Everytime I have gone travelling, I have always used the flimsy paper luggage tags that you can get from the pound shop, and tied them onto my luggage with the string that is probably thinner than a single hair. Through some of my travels, I have found that these paper tags often become lost when I pick up my luggage at my destination. When picking up my nameless luggage at the arriving airport, I would just have to hope that no one else had the same bag as me.

With these, aluminium tags however, this problem will not exist anymore. The strong aluminium tag encases a paper with your name, address and contact details on, so no crumpled name tags. The aluminium tag casings are also each a very bright and vivid colour, so you will always be able to spot your bag in a busy airport a mile away! The wire to tie the tag onto your luggage is a very flexible and tough steel cable that can be twisted on at the joining ends. The wire is extremely tough, I have even yanked it a few times whilst attached to my luggage straps, and it refuses to come off! Very reassuring considering how lugage handlers can be quite rough with you suitcases sometimes.

A very good quality product that would probably last you a lifetime, making it an essential for when travelling.

Is that better than the plastic/rubber ones you can pick up, 22 April 2016

Bought these for a recent holiday flying 4 different airlines (short, medium and long haul) and I have to say these have come out relatively unscathed. They are made of metal but it doesn’t feel the most durable initially. One of them has a bend whilst the remaining 2 have plenty of scratches.

I guess they’ve survived a fairly gruelling schedule and will probably survive another couple of trips. Is that better than the plastic/rubber ones you can pick up? Probably not, but these do look a lot better… Isn’t that what it’s all about as you stroll through the airport!?

Ordered yesterday and received these today via Prime, so usual excellent Amazon service. Chose these on the basis of mainly positive reviews. I noticed that many of the reviews are where the goods have been supplied free for assessment. Whilst not suggesting these reviews are anything other than honest, it does seem that not having paid for the items, lends an element of seeing them with rose tinted glasses. Otherwise, the reviewers had low expectations.
I paid for my labels and am giving an honest, fair and unbiased review. I would not give one star as this indicates that I hate the product, not so, but I do not like them, hence two stars. The concept of the design is quite good by hiding your address and only exposing your name. The address card is decent quality and has a clear plastic cover for extra protection and both have a hole in them through which the wire loop passes. Somebody determined to get your address could undo the wire loop and remove the card OR they could simply bend open the label, which would take little effort, and expose the card. If protecting your address is vital, then these will not do the job. I never include my address on any luggage labels anyway, so this is not the main issue for me. My complaint is the very poor finish on every card received. They are each in an individual plastic bag and these are then in another plastic bag, so have not been damaged in transit. Each card has marking along the full length of each edge and on both sides. It looks as though they have been run through a pair of wheels or rollers. There are also several scratches in the coloured coating, exposing the bare metal below, on some of them. If the problem had just been on one, I would have put that down to bad luck and would have kept them, but they all have the same “manufacturing” problem. If they look this tatty when new, them I dread to think what they will be like after a couple of trips. I suspect the coating is very quickly going to wear away and since I really wanted them for colour coded identification this will soon be ineffective. For only about £1 each you cannot expect top quality, but they should be better than this.
As it is I am returning them for a refund. Again, excellent Amazon service making this simple to do.
