compact and handy luggage scale,
* About the battery:
It comes with a battery included which is great – it’s one of those silver round coin cell lithium batteries. Slotting it into the device was a tiny bit tricky but not too bad – managed it alright.
* About the device:
– About the size:
It’s surprisingly small, compact and lightweight – the whole scale is about the width of my hand, which makes sense since you hold it in your hand to measure the weight of whatever it is you’re measuring. Holding the whole scale in your hand feels a bit like holding the handle of a bag.
– About the digital interface:
It’s completely silent which is good (no annoying beeping sounds). The digital interface comes on with a green backlight to the screen.
– About how to measure the weight of stuff:
There is this strap with a silver hook on the end. To measure the weight of a bag, you thread the strap through the handle or shoulder-strap of your bag, and hook the scale’s strap back into place at the top of the scale in the triangular silver bit. You hold the scale in your hand as it measures the weight hanging off the strap. It allows you to measure in both kg and lb (pounds). It worked really well and gives you the reading very quickly.
The device is said to be able to measure weight up to a maximum of 50kg (110lb).
– Other features:
A little randomly, it also has a thermometer in it which gives you the temprature of your surroundings in celsius or farenheit. Not sure it was the most accurate thermometer since it gave readings a couple degrees higher than my other thermometers at home, but I didn’t really mind since I’m only planning on using this for weight measuring.
* Overall:
Easy to work, lightweight, handy little luggage scale that’ll definitely come in useful for measuring the weight of luggage or the weight of anything else as long as it has a handle of some sort to hook through the weighing strap. A really nice little device. I’d happily recommend it.
